Frank Vogel, Pacers players attend Colts-Eagles Monday Night game

Monday night was a big night in Indianapolis, as the city and its NFL team, the Colts, were on center stage as part of ESPN’s coverage of Monday Night Football. The Colts hosted the Philadelphia Eagles to Lucas Oil Stadium for a game seen by football fans across the country.

Big games typically bring big names to the game — and this one was no different. Pacers coach Frank Vogel and a number of Pacers players made it downtown to check out the primetime game.

The game was decided in the final minutes with Eagles coming out victorious, 30-27.

Vogel, however, surely was torn. He grew up an avid Eagles fan, and although his affinity isn’t as strong as he has different priorities now — his wife, two girls, and his job — he will always cheer for them.

Then, of course, he’s cheering for the Colts, the hometown team. He is friends with Colts coach Chuck Pagano, who has sat in Vogel’s courtside seats at multiple games in the last few years. Regardless, I’m sure he had a great time.

As always, it’s really cool to see Indy teams supporting one another.
