Full House sequel – Fuller House – coming to Netflix in 2016

(Nope, this has nothing to do with sports or Indianapolis, but I don’t care.)

Before rolling out of bed and getting on with my day Tuesday, I scrolled through my phone to get caught up on the news — as I do everyday. Twitter. Instagram. Email. Snapchat.

While on Instagram, I saw Candace Bure’s post, which immediately made my day. A sequel to Full House, dubbed as Fuller House, is going to be made and available on Netflix in 2016.

Haaaaaavve mercy!

This was my second favorite show growing up, behind only Saved By the Bell. But, man, this is excellent news.

John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) officially announced the news on Monday’s program of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’

I’ve seen every episode of Full House, which ran from 1987-1995, at least once. Though it hasn’t been stated, this surely means all episodes of Full House will be added to Netflix.

More details on the upcoming show from Deadline.com:

In Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Cameron-Bure) pregnant and recently widowed, living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s two boys — the rebellious 12-year-old J.D. and neurotic 7-year-old Max — and her soon-to-arrive baby.

Essentially, the script centers on the life of the girls and how they take over the house. (You got it, dude!)

I had seen reports over the last month that Stamos was working on it and those had merit. Stamos said he wanted to be sure not to tarnish or effect their legacy, but he wanted to do a spin-off so that’s what we’re going to get.

Stamos told Kimmel the plans for the first episode, which, again, are planned for 2016, will be an hour-long reunion and they’re hoping everyone returns, including the Olsen twins. The first season will be 13 episodes.

No surprise “Full House” is No. 2 on Twitter’s trending list in the United States.

And here’s how the cast reacted to the news finally going public:

I’m kind of surprised Stamos didn’t announce it on my go-to late-night program, Jimmy Fallon (NBC). This from almost two years ago.
