Paul George: ‘THIS moment is my opportunity to help lead’

Things have gotten real for the Pacers players still on the roster … for guys like Paul George and George Hill. The Pacers are going to look and play differently than in previous seasons under coach Frank Vogel.

Shortly after word got out Monday that David West had committed to play for the Spurs — and for the veteran’s minimum ($1.4 million) — George got sentimental and reflective on Instagram.

For Hill, George, West, and Roy Hibbert, it was a special four years together. Two Eastern Conference Finals appearances and just one win from the NBA Finals in 2013.

With his teammates changing cities, George wrote that it’s now his time to help lead.

“Mannnnnnn O man!” George wrote. “My big bro and the big OG DWest! Couldn’t thank y’all enough for the good times and helping me thru my bad ones! I don’t feel as if yall left me BUT that you prepared me for this moment.. And THIS moment is my opportunity to help lead this team!”
