Andrew Luck arrives at Colts training camp in a Pacers t-shirt

Colts, Pacers, Andrew Luck

Andrew Luck lives in downtown Indianapolis and has fully embraced the city he has called home for six years — since the Colts used the top overall pick in 2012 to land their franchise quarterback.

On Sunday, Luck arrived at training camp sporting a Pacers t-shirt.

He attends many Pacers games each season, but is often away from the court and up in a suite.

For the first time in franchise history, the Colts are holding training camp at the Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield. The two sides agreed to a 10-year deal to form the partnership. Camp has previously been held in Terre Haute and Anderson.

There are outdoor fields and a beautiful indoor facility, ensuring that weather won’t keep the team from getting its pre-season work completed.

And Luck must be eager to get going out on the field considering he hasn’t played in a game in 569 days. Veterans aren’t scheduled to report until Wednesday, but Luck likely got a head start because 1) the team’s training staff is already there with the rookies and 2) so is much of their weight room.

The Colts’ practice facility on West 56th Street is undergoing major modernization, including a state-of-the art training, treatment, and rehabiliation area, expanded weight room, football-shaped locker room, and an updated kitchen. The project has been entirely financed by owner Jim Irsay.
