Chris Taylor takes on new role with the Mad Ants

Chris Taylor joined the Indiana Pacers back in 2012. Now, five years later, he’s taking on a new role under the Pacers Sports & Entertainment umbrella.

Taylor has moved to Fort Wayne to become the Director of Basketball Operations for the Mad Ants, the Pacers’ G League affiliate run by General Manager Brian Levy. Taylor previously worked for the Pacers’ front office as one of two basketball operations coordinators.

Levy and Taylor were both in Las Vegas for the annual NBA Summer League tournament in mid-July.

Kevin Pritchard, the Pacers President of Basketball Operations, is a big proponent of the G League as a place for growth … for players, for coaches, and for staffers. It forces everyone to do more with less, and will allow for Taylor to have his hands in so many different things.

The job change occurred in June and Taylor began in his new role on July 1. This is not his time working in the G League (formerly known as the Development League). His first basketball job out of college was in game operations with the Maine Red Claws of the G League.

Taylor replaces Harrison Greenberg, who was the Mad Ants’ DOBO for the past two seasons. Greenberg has returned to Indianapolis to work for the Pacers in a newly-created position of Scouting Coordinator.

Meanwhile, Tim Brown Jr. was hired in August to team up with Aaron Weaver as the Pacers’ Basketball Operations Coordinators.

Taylor, a native of Calais, Maine, is a 2011 graduate of Emerson College.
