Dreams come true—on the IU Radio Network

Growing up in Indiana as an avid IU sports fan, the voice of Don Fischer has been long familiar. He has been the calming voice of Indiana athletics for the last 38 years.

This weekend, I have the unique opportunity to join the legend, along with Buck Suhr on the IU Radio Network. I will host the pregame, halftime, and postgame show on the statewide network as Indiana hosts Akron to Memorial Stadium.

These duties have been filled by Joe Smith for the last 28 years but he has something more important to attend to this weekend…his daughters wedding.

This weekend, I will check off two dreams of mine in regards to my sports broadcasting career. First of all, I want to work alongside the legend, Fisch. No matter the event, Fisch has been there and covered it. His voice and presentation of games are unmatched. The other is to be on the IU Radio Network because after all, It’s Indiana.

The game will kickoff just after 7:00 PM EST but the pregame show will get underway at 6:00 PM. Turn into 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis or on Sirius 90, XM 196.
