FOX Sports Indiana receives seven Emmy nominations for its Pacers coverage

FOX Sports Indiana, the television home of the Indiana Pacers, has received an all-time high eight nominations for the 2018 Lower Great Lakes Emmy Awards. Seven of those are for its coverage of Pacers basketball throughout the 2017-18 season.

In addition to its telecasts of Pacers basketball — airing all 82 games for the second time in franchise history — FSI received a nomination for its first-ever showing of the Monon Bell Classic, a rivalry local college football game between DePauw and Wabash.

In 2016, FSI was nominated for three Emmys.

The FSI Emmy Nominations are as follows:

  • Pacers Live Pregame (Opening Night) – Ken Sothman, Jeremiah Johnson, Eddie Gill
  • Pacers Live Pregame (Honoring the 90s Pacers) – Ken Sothman, Jeremiah Johnson, Chris Denari, Quinn Buckner

Sports Event/Game – Live/Unedited

  • Monon Bell Classic — Bill Cochran, Larry Mago
  • Spurs vs. Pacers – Max Leinwand, Jamie Berns

Director – Live or Live to Tape

  • Pacers Live Pregame (Dec. 8) — Jamie Berns

Director – Sports

  • Cavs vs. Pacers (Dec. 8) — Jamie Berns

Editor – News/Sports

Also of Note:

FSI hosted Basketball Day Indiana for the second annual year on Jan. 6 as it televised nine games over 13 hours. Last month, at the Cynopsis Sports Media Awards in New York, it won the award for “Live Coverage of a Sporting Event (Regional/Local).”
