Kevin Seraphin changes number — again — to 13

So there will be a player wearing No. 13 for the Pacers this upcoming season after all.

On the same day the Pacers’ trade to send Paul George to Oklahoma City became official, Pacers forward Kevin Seraphin quickly snatched up No. 13.

This isn’t a prank. His official number has been changed to 13, his number for five seasons (2010-15) with the Washington Wizards.

Seraphin has a great sense of humor, so you have to laugh at this move. George, formerly the face of the franchise, moves on and Seraphin says, “Cool, I’ll take your number. Thanks!”

He announced the number change on Twitter:

This is Seraphin’s second number change this offseason. In June, he changed to No. 8 to allow Lance Stephenson to reclaim No. 1.

… and speaking of those two, the besties were back together at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday.

Seraphin appeared in 49 games last season, his first with the Pacers. He averaged 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He contract becomes guaranteed on August 1.
