NBA Official Tyler Ford working All-Star Weekend 2018 in Los Angeles

With all eyes on Los Angeles this weekend for All-Star weekend, there will be another local Indiana connection to keep an eye out for. He’s not playing or coaching in any of the events, but he will be a participant.

Tyler Ford (No. 39) is one of three game officials for the Rising Stars Challenge and then All-Star Saturday night events: the Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest, and Slam Dunk Contest.

Ford grew up in Lima, Ohio but now resides in Lafayette, Indiana. He earned both his Bachelor’s (’07) and Master’s (’09) degrees from Ball State University in Muncie.

Now in his third season as an NBA official, you may recognize Ford from his time officiating other leagues — G League (six years), WNBA (four), plus games in the Big Ten, Summit League, and Mid-American Conference.

So when you see Ford while watching the All-Star festivities on TNT, know that Ford is a Hoosier.
