Oladipo earns player of the week honors for the third time

Victor Oladipo, Pacers, City Uniforms

The awards continue to pour in this season as Victor Oladipo and the Pacers surprise everyone. Oladipo was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week Monday for games played from March 27 through April 1.

During that stretch, Oladipo averaged 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 3.7 steals per game and shot 67.4 percent from the field as the Pacers won all three road games. (Golden State, Sacramento, Los Angeles Clippers).

It is the third time that Oladipo has been voted Eastern Conference Player of the Week. He wasn’t named player of the week once over his first four seasons, three in Orlando and last year in Oklahoma City.

He previously earned the weekly honor on Oct. 30 and Dec. 11.

Oladipo, who’s in the first year of a four-year deal, became the 12th different Pacer to earn player of the week honors. And he’s the first player in franchise history to earn it three times in one season. Paul George did it twice during the 2013-14 season.

Now that’s feathery…

The Pacers (46-31) have five games remaining, including Tuesday’s game in Denver where they’ll complete a four-game road trip.
