Pacers 2015 rookie draft picks sign with Nike

Two more Indiana Pacers have signed with Nike.

Young is coming from Oregon, so of course he has a deal with Nike.

Myles Turner and Joe Young, the team’s first- and second-round selections, both told VigilantSports.com they are officially with Nike.

It’s no surprise, as both players already had ties with the leader in shoes and sports apparel. Turner and Young previously played basketball at colleges that had a deal in place with Nike: University of Texas and University of Oregon.

Young, in his first interview with local reporters after being drafted by the Pacers in June, was sporting a special pair of Oregon shoes and referred to Phil Knight, the co-founder and chairman of Nike, as “Uncle Phil.”

For young guys, it is typically an on-court shoe deal that includes annual credit to buy more gear, and sometimes a five-figure dollar amount, depending on the individual.

Several other brands are represented in the Pacers locker room including adidas (Rodney Stuckey), PEAK (George Hill, Chase Budinger), and Li-Ning! (Glenn Robinson III).

Other Pacers who have a deal with Nike include Paul George, Ian Mahinmi, C.J. Miles, and Solomon Hill.
