Pacers 2017 pre-draft workout attendees

The 2017 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday, June 22nd.

The 2017 NBA Draft will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, home of the Nets, on Thursday, June 22nd. It’ll air on ESPN beginning at 7:00 pm ET.

Following a 42-40 season, Year 1 under coach Nate McMillan, the Pacers will select at No. 18 and 47. Kevin Pritchard, who took over as President of Basketball Operations after Larry Bird decided to step down, will make the final call in the team’s war room at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Hours before the draft last year, Bird sent the 20th overall pick to Brooklyn for veteran forward Thad Young. This was one day after acquiring starting point guard Jeff Teague from Atlanta in a three-team trade. They had worked out more than 42 NBA hopefuls.

The organization, directed by Bird, has trade half of its last six first-round picks.

Indiana’s last five Round 1 picks it used:
2015: Myles Turner (11)
2013: Solomon Hill (23)
2012: Miles Plumlee (26)
2010: Paul George (10)
2009: Tyler Hansbrough (13)

In 2015, they evaluated at least 36 guys in pre-draft workout situations. They ended up taking Myles Turner at No. 11 and Joe Young 43rd overall.

In 2014, without a first-round pick, they brought in over 50 players. Then on draft night, they sold the 57th pick to New York in exchange for cash.
