Pacers 2017 Pre-Draft Workouts: Harry Giles, Duke

When you think of Harry Giles, you think about potential. That’s what a draft is about more than anything, in some cases, right?

Giles is 6-foot-10, 232 pounds and incredibly skinny. The concern with him is his health. He’s had multiple knee surgeries already, and he’s just 19. So he understands the importance of availability.

After one underwhelming year at Duke, where he was sidelined for the first 11 games of the season, he declared for the NBA Draft. Perhaps much of his decision was trying to capitalize on his talent and potential before further injury.

He might be a good pick for a team planning for several years down the road, where he’s not rushed or significant minutes are demanded. Again, he’s just 19, so time is on his side.

Giles was in for the Pacers’ ninth and final pre-draft workout. He went up against John Collins of Wake Forest. And like several other draft hopefuls, he wore PG1s, Paul George’s signature shoe, during the workout.
