Pacers finish last in tiebreaker, own picks 23 and 50 in 2018 NBA Draft

2018 NBA Draft

Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard now knows exactly when he’ll be on the clock during the 2018 NBA Draft. As one of four teams to finish the regular season with a 48-34 record, a tiebreaker was held — and they lost.

The Pacers hold picks 23 and 50 for the draft, which will take place on Thursday, June 21 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Oklahoma City won the tiebreaker over Utah (21), New Orleans (22), and Indiana (23), so the Thunder will select at No. 20. Then in the second round, they will select in inverse order.

Last year, they selected T.J. Leaf 18th overall and Ike Anigbogu at 47.

Five tiebreaker drawings in all were made Friday afternoon in New York to decide the order of the draft. This was essentially the draft lottery to the draft lottery, which will be held Tuesday, May 15 in Chicago. That’s when the non-playoff teams will learn when they will be making a selection within the lottery picks (1-14).

Phoenix finished with the league’s worst record: 21-61.
