Patriots seek revenge on Giants in Indy for Super Bowl XLVI

Indianapolis is fully prepared for their first-ever Super Bowl and now they finally know what two teams they’ll host. In two weeks, the New England Patriots and New York Giants will face-off at Lucas Oil Stadium for Super Bowl XLVI.

A rematch of Super Bowl XLII.

In the AFC Championship Game, the Patriots benefited from a Billy Cundiff missed field goal from 32-yards out that would have sent the game into overtime. The Ravens had their chances, including a Lee Evans drop in the end zone that would have been the go-ahead score.

Patriots 23, Ravens 20.

Vince Wilfork made two of the biggest plays of the game. He’s the outstanding defensive lineman for the Patriots that caused havoc throughout the game for Joe Flacco. Postgame, Tom Brady admitted that he had a bad game.

“Well, I sucked pretty bad today. But our defense saved us.”

Regardless, Brady and The Hoodie are headed to Indianapolis, seeking a Super Bowl in the city of their arch-rival. There’s no denying the success of Belichick and company. They will be playing in the big game for the 5th time in 11 years.

On a personal level, this is tough for Colts fans. They were without Peyton all season and uncertain if he’ll ever play again. The team goes 2-14 and then cleans house. It has truly been a wild seven months for the Colts.

Just imagine Belichick and the Patriots moving into the Colts complex on West 56th Street next Sunday. What if the Polian’s were still around, would they have private security watching specific offices? Will the Patriots hide something behind to leave their mark?

In the second thrilling game Sunday evening, the Giants knocked off the 49ers 20-17. Vernon Davis scored two big touchdowns for the 49ers but poor special teams was the story of the day.

Cundiff missed the field goal for Baltimore in the first game, and in the finale Kyle Williams fumbled a punt return, giving the Giants great field position…and the win. Lawrence Tynes nailed a 41-yard field goal to send the Giants back to the Super bowl.

This season was remarkable for San Francisco, considering it was the first under new head coach Jim Harbaugh — known to Colts fans as ‘Captain Comeback.’

The Giants earn a trip to the Super Bowl for the 2nd time in four years. It will be up to a Manning, Eli Manning, to keep the Patriots from winning in Colts territory. Wonder if Eli will stay at Peyton’s house?

All this will happen, in the house that Peyton built.

It was a thrilling and competitive day of football. In both games, no team led by more than seven! Unfortunately, the Harbaugh’s lost so instead of the Super Harbowl, the brothers are going home and it’s a Super Bowl XLII, part two.

New England and New York coming to town is the great for the city, in terms of dollars spent. They are two of the most expensive cities in the country and so they’re used to paying top-dollar. They travel in large numbers and will poor millions of dollars into Indy’s economy. A victory for Indianapolis, regardless.

Only downside — New York and Boston going at it for the next two weeks. The mainstream media just loves this matchup.

The Patriots will stay at the University Place Conference Center, while the Giants are at the Marriott. Both teams are expected to arrive in Indianapolis on Sunday, Jan. 29th.

Aren’t you glad they ended the lockout? Today was fun.
