Source: Pacers stand pat at trade deadline

The NBA’s annual trade deadline has come and gone and the Pacers decided to stand pat. Team President Larry Bird opted to keep his roster as is and did not make a trade, a league source told VigilantSports.com.

The Pacers listened to offers for four-time All-Star Paul George, who is under contract through the 2017-18 season. But ultimately an offer clearly didn’t entice them enough to make a move, whether it included George or not.

At 29-28, sixth in the Eastern Conference, this Pacers team has plenty of room for growth. Spots worth taking a look at to improve the roster include a bruiser in the post who can collect plenty of rebounds, along with a sharpshooter.

C.J. Miles is the only Pacer shooting better than 40 percent from range, at 41.7 percent.

Oftentimes, no move is the best move. They have the maximum of 15 players on roster and are $4 million below the cap.

The Pacers still possess their first-round pick in the upcoming 2017 NBA Draft.
