Undrafted rookie forward Trevon Bluiett signed his first NBA contract on Tuesday. The Indy native, a graduate of Park Tudor School, landed a two-way deal after a strong performance during the Las Vegas Summer League earlier this month.
Bluiett, who was not invited to the NBA Draft Combine, scored 50 points combined in his first two games, leading summer league in scoring through the first two days. He was their second-leading scorer, averaging 18.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 57 percent from the field.
Two-way deals can be for one or two years, and they guarantee a player at least $75,000, with the opportunity to earn $200,000 more on the same contract. The NBA team owns the player’s rights and it can be converted into an NBA deal, like the Pacers did this past season with Alex Poythress.
