Victor Oladipo adds WME for off-the-court representation

As Victor Oladipo’s career has taken flight on the court, he’s become a popular hit off away from basketball. The Pacers star has signed with William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, between known as WME Entertainment, for representation beyond basketball.

The longest-running talent agency represents actors, authors, musicians, comedians, speakers, and more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “WME will help Oladipo expand his opportunities in music, endorsements, content development and philanthropy.”

They can help Oladipo secure additional endorsement deals, market an upcoming album, launch a foundation, and run his personal website.

In the last year, on top of being a first time All-Star and named Third Team All-NBA, Oladipo published an EP album that was well-received, pushed his Feathery Life brand, teamed up with Indianapolis Major Joe Hogsett for a local campaign, and became the first active professional athlete in Indy to drive the pace car at the Indianapolis 500. Plus, he appeared on TNT’s Inside The NBA one night during the NBA postseason.

Oladipo does not officially have a basketball agent of record. Creative Artists Agency (CAA) negotiated his current deal in the fall of 2016 while with the Oklahoma City Thunder — a four-year, $84 million contract extension.

During the 2017-18 season, when Oladipo took his game to another level and earned the NBA’s Most Improved Player award, he did not make endorsement deals a priority. Basketball was his focus. Despite wearing Jordan Brand shoes in every game, his endorsement deal with them had expired and a new deal was in the process of being renegotiated.

Despite being in high demand right now, Victor has been selective.

Beyond that, you could see a documentary produced about him. And, Oladipo is recording his first all-original album this offseason with plans for it to drop by the end of the summer.

“It’s going to be feathery, definitely,” he said recently.
