Video: Reggie Wayne working out as usual, confident in Manning and Collie’s recovery

Reggie Wayne spoke Friday with ESPN’s Ed Werder about his offseason in Miami and the frustration of last season.

The Colts veteran wide receiver said nothing has really changed for him because of the lockout and that “everybody is really on (his) program.”

Wayne works out everyday in the offseason at his alma mater, the University of Miami. And he has done so every year of his pro career.

“I’ve been doing it for 11 years now so if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.”

The lockout isn’t too challenging on veterans because they know what to do and what it takes. Who lockout really affects are the young players and undrafted free agents.

“Now you have to be your own judge,” Wayne said. “It’s so easy to say ‘I’m not going to work out today’ and miss a work out. Compared to when you have to be at the facility at 9 or whatever the case may be, or you get fined.”

Franchise quarterback Peyton Manning recently had another neck procedure done, but that doesn’t worry Wayne one bit. “I feel like he’ll be alright. I’m sure he can handle it. He’s been through the procedure once already.”

Wayne also remained hopeful on the future status of teammate Austin Collie who suffered multiple concussions last year including a vicious blow at Philadelphia. “Once you get one, it’s always easy to get another. I just hope it don’t shut him down early.”

“I feel like we have plenty of time. I feel good…actually I feel great. I feel like we still have some opportunities to get something done and get back to our goal which is the Super Bowl…hopefully get there and win it.”
