Video: Tony Dungy cites Manning’s meticulous preparation

Former Colts head coach Tony Dungy retired in 2008 but he remains a vocal contributor to NFL talk, most notably on NBC. In Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI, Dungy has done hundreds of interviews, providing perspective on the big game, his old team and the status of Peyton Manning.

In addition to his football endeavors, he puts lots of time and effort helping those in need while spreading his Christian beliefs. Very wisely, he shares stories and gives his opinion on twitter and All Pro Dad’s website, “a Christian focused commercial site, using sports metaphors and star athletes as role models for fathering network.”

Before the Patriots play the Giants on Super Bowl Sunday, Dungy recorded a video with a few interesting tidbits regarding Peyton Manning. No, not on his health but on his preparation.

Dungy said that before Super Bowl XLI, Manning watched every single Chicago Bears game, including the playoffs, to be prepared and informed for the ultimate game.

“He never goes into a game where he’s not fully prepared…his preparation is really legendary.” Dungy also said Manning was the one who suggested practicing with wet footballs, which in turn, was beneficial because it rained all game.
