IU, PU, BSU Look to Rebuild Through Recruiting

13-23 was the combined record of the three Division 1 public schools in the state of Indiana. 13-23 with no bowl appearances.  Purdue hasn’t bowled in 3 years, IU in 3, and BSU in 2 years.  So how are programs turned around? Recruiting of course.

First lets take a look at the Hoosiers.  IU rode 4 wins against non BCS conference teams, and a victory …

Indiana, Kevin Wilson introduce 21 member signing class

Wednesday was signing day throughout the country. First-year head coach Kevin Wilson had 21 players sign their National Letter of Intent to play football at Indiana University.

A third of his first Indiana signing class are from the state of Indiana, seven of the 21 players. Indiana added four defensive linemen, three linebackers, three cornerbacks and two safeties. IU also signed four offensive linemen, three …

Hoosiers prepare for Minnesota – Christian Watford out indefinitely

These Hoosiers are looking good. Indiana has competed in four of the last five games and looked strong. With the exception of IU’s game at Iowa, Indiana has competed, battled and kept each game close.

Jordan Hulls has led this young group this season. He has become a phenomenon. Hulls created a twitter account Monday and by Tuesday afternoon, he had nearly 2,000 followers.

But …

Celebrate we will. But rush the floor?

Last night’s 52-49 win over 20th ranked Illinois was enormous. In a few years down the road, after the probable future successes, IU fans may look back to January 27th, 2011 as a changing point.

Nonetheless rushing the floor after upsetting a 14-7 team is irrational. I would have rather seen Hoosier faithful rush Ross-Ade Stadium in November after Indiana knocked off Purdue to win …

Indiana upsets Illinois for biggest win of Crean era

The Hoosiers took it to heat tonight and upset 20th-ranked Illinois 52-49 in front of a sold out Assembly Hall in Bloomington.

Indiana was led by Jordan Hulls, who finished with 18 points (tying a season high) including four of five from 3-point range. Christian Watford tallied 16 points and 5 rebounds in the winning effort.

The difference may have been at the free throw …

Tom Crean Gets His First Win Over a Ranked Opponent: Indiana 52-49 over Illinois

According to John Harbaugh, coach of the Baltimore Ravens and brother-in-law of IU basketball coach Tom Crean, it was a night where Crean’s team “came of age.”

Prior to the his team’s matchup with No. 20 Illinois Thursday night at Assembly Hall, Crean said the Hoosiers would miss junior guard Verdell Jones III’s leadership. While the 42nd player to 1,000 points in IU history and …

Indiana stands at a fork in the road tonight against Illinois

It’s time to break out one of my favorite pictures from the real Assembly Hall. Bruce Weber understands he is hated in Bloomington and tonight the fans will go after him once again.

We will hear Weber complain all night…and we will hear fans subsequently chant “Shut up Weber!”

But now onto the big picture.

Indiana is at .500. It is tonight where they decide …
