For Paul George, it means more time to look forward to Super Bowl 50 and prepare for the big game between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos.

“Rooting for my boys,” George said Saturday night with a Broncos hat sitting on a shelf in his locker. “It’s going to be a good game but I think the Broncos pull it off.”

So you may be wondering … Why is George, a Palmdale, California native, a Broncos fan?

It’s because of his dad, Paul, played against John Elway in California. Elway attended Granada Hills High School, about 41 miles southwest of Palmdale, before moving on to Stanford.

George has been repping Broncos gear for years now, including an orange Peyton Manning jersey.
