Pacers swingman Paul George made a surprise appearance at the Drew League, the infamous Pro Am league in Los Angeles, George’s home base for the summer.
Free agent Nick Young aka ‘Swaggy P,’ who spent last season with the Lakers, played alongside him. The two are friends and often go through offseason workouts together in L.A. (Note: The league is sponsored by Nike, who both George and Young endorse. That’s likely part of the reason the two showed up.)
It’s not PG’s first time playing in the Drew League. It’s a solid place for him to get a quality game in on the weekend against quality talent. Sometimes, as players will tell you, organizing games proves to be the most difficult.
George finished a game-high 33 points and six rebounds as his team prevailed, 91-67.

In the midst of the game, he had the ball all alone on a breakaway so of course he completed his signature 360 windmill dunk.
And from another angle:
The best part of that video came at the end, when the man holding the phone and holding record down on Instagram shouts in excitment, “OHHHHHHH! I GOT THE VIDEO! I GOT THE VIDEO!”
More candid moments from the game:
George will be back in Indianapolis next weekend for his inaugural camp in Indy, held at Avon High School July 12-13.
