Nike, known for timely and creative ads on the players the multi-billion dollar company sponsors, released its first ad since Pacers swingman Paul George suffered a devastating leg injury last Friday.
It’s a simple message emitting both optimism and hope for the 24-year-old.
“Without the setbacks, the comebacks aren’t as sweet,” Nike put it.
The ad reads:
“Heard this is a career-ending injury.
Then the doctors said full recovery.
Heard the guys were frozen on the sideline.
Then your teammates rushed to the hospital.
Heard everyone is worried.
Then you said you’ll be back better than ever.
There are two sides to everything.
The worst has happened.
The best is next.”
Well done, Nike. It’s touching, on point, and sends a positive message to both George and his fans.
