Pacers swingman Paul George completed the annual media-day festivities Monday and did so without any assistance.
George ditched the boot he had been wearing on his right foot and didn’t use a crutch as he made the journey from station to station. It was the first time George had done so, but he will continue to wear the boot daily.
Impressively, he walked boot-less two days shy of the two-month mark since he had surgery on Aug. 1 after suffering an open tibia-fibula fracture in Las Vegas.
George posted to Instagram late Monday: “Just doesn’t feel the same going thru media day and being excited about training camp starting tomorrow.. Real reality check but I’ll be there for my teammates to push them and remain competitive Indiana! #PacerNation #YoungTrece”
George, aka ‘Young Trece’, can’t do any on-court work, but he has been active in the weight room and vigorously attacking his rehab.
George, who was the only player not made available to the media, was in good spirits – as seen to the right – with a big grin on his face. Considering the circumstances, that he can’t make a difference on the court this season, he was his usual outgoing self.
