Paul George to wear headband ‘until 22 gets back’

With Pacers forward Chris Copeland out indefinitely after being stabbed multiple times outside a Manhattan nightclub on April 8th, two of his teammates have worn headbands in his honor.

In the two games since the unfortunate incident, both Paul George and Solomon Hill have worn headbands to honor and support their hurt teammate — as well as to show their uniformity.

Though Copeland has been used sparingly this season, he’s made an impact in the locker room. He is a man of faith and is one of the guys you can have a real, deep conversation with … about anything.

Copeland, to his credit, has kept a positive and team-first attitude despite not getting the playing time he had hoped for when he signed with the Pacers almost two summers ago.

As for the headbands, expect George and Hill to continue to wear them. George, as seen in the video below, says he intends to wear one “until 22 gets back.”

The plan is for Copeland to make the trip back to Indianapolis on Sunday. Pacers coach Frank Vogel did not provide an update after Saturday’s practice.
