The Indiana Pacers will host their annual FanJam on Oct. 18, prior to the Colts squaring off against the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football.
I’ve heard the 18th as the tentative date for a month now, and it has indeed been scheduled for that Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The team considered several windows.
Admission is free, of course. The first 4,000 guests will receive a complimentary hot dog, chips and a Pepsi product in addition to a voucher for a free t-shirt.
Last year’s FanJam was held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., after the Colts-Ravens game. Damjan Rudež stole the show with his singing of “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea, and Shayne Whittington performed “Latch.”
During the first hour, there are all kinds of activities and giveaways, plus a chance to get autographs of former Pacers and the broadcasters throughout the concourse. The team takes the court in hour two, and then the final hour is dedicated to player autographs.
Leading up to the weekend, the Pacers will once again send players and staff to five different high school football games to “Paint the Town.” On Friday, Oct. 16, the Pacers plan to hit Whiteland at Greenwood, North Central at Ben Davis, Zionsville at Fishers, Northwest at Heritage Christian, and Hamilton Southeastern vs. Brownsburg at Victory Field.
The Pacers players will be involved in the coin toss, have items to give away, and sign autographs.
