The Fort Wayne Mad Ants have continued to build their staff over the last two months since the Pacers purchased the D-League team. Brian Levy was brought on as General Manager on September 9th, the day the organization made the official announcement.
Levy then hired Steve Gansey as head coach, and Gansey on Wednesday filled out his staff with Stephen Graham, Dylan Murphy, Jonah Herscu, Kevin Bloom, and Jason Manikowski.
It’s no surprise that Harrison Greenberg, who has been associated with the Pacers for quite some time, is going to Fort Wayne … as the Director of Basketball Operations. He was officially named to the position on Friday.
From my story on June 12th:
Did you know there is a third Simon brother? You know team owner Herb Simon and of his late brother, Mel. Fred Simon is not involved with the team but one of his grandsons is. Harrison Greenberg, a recent graduate of Indiana University, started full-time with the team on June 1. He’s been around the team for years now, soaking in all he could as an intern for the various departments. Greenberg, who sits in on the pre-draft workouts and has previously attended Summer League games in Orlando, is passionate about scouting. For now, he was given the official title of “Manager.”
Greenberg, who graduated from IU last spring, became a full-time employee this summer and now will be tasked with helping to build up the Mad Ants with a great culture similar to Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
“Harrison brings a wealth of organizational knowledge to Fort Wayne,” Levy said of Greenberg (via Pacers.com).
“His previous experience, both on the basketball and the business side of an NBA franchise, will be an invaluable asset to us as we try to replicate the Indiana Pacers on and off the basketball floor. Harrison will have a big hand in player personnel, operational and logistical matters. I couldn’t be happier to have a quality individual, like Harrison, involved with the Mad Ants this year.”

Greenberg’s passion is in the evaluation of players. In this new role, he will wear many hats — including player personnel and scouting.
