Another Indiana Pacers player has become a father.
Indianapolis native George Hill and his longtime girlfriend, Samantha Garcia, welcomed Zayden Jaxon Hill into the world last Saturday, Jan. 16.
“Our lives will definently change from now on, daddy and I have had a couple rough nights so far, but I can’t wait to see what this new journey will bring,” Sam shared in an Instagram post. “I’m so excited, happy and finally feel complete!
“Seeing my baby in his daddy’s arms, the way they bond and the love I have for both of them is unbelievable! I thank the lord for such a beautiful, and healthy blessing and I thank him for such an amazing man to be by my side through it all, I love you baby!”
Zayden arrived about a month early, weighing 5 lbs. 13 oz. and he was 19.5 inches long.
Hill did not travel with the Pacers on their four-game road trip, missing games at Denver (loss) and Phoenix (win). He is not yet with the team and will not play Friday in Oakland against the Warriors, who are 19-0 this season at home.
If you’ve been wondering why Hill has been away from the team, this is the primary reason why.
“Wow What An Amazing Feeling And Blessing,” George shared in an Instagram post hours later. “These Past Couple Of Weeks Have Been A Roller Coaster, But On 1-16-16 Was The Best Feeling That I Have Ever Been Apart Of… Me And My Beautiful @samgarcia_3 Are So Thrilled To Introduce Our New Baby Boy Zayden Jaxon Hill To The World.
“I Know These Past 3 Days Have Been Tough For Both Of My Babies But They Both Hung In There Like Champs. Sam I Thank You For Everything You’ve Given Me And I Can’t Wait To See What This Journey Has To Offer Us. Just So Thankful That Zayden Has A Great Woman That He Can Call Mom And I Promise I’m Going To Be The Best Father A Child Could Ask For….”
Congratulations to George and Sam.
