It’s become one of the best annual events in Indianapolis. Each June for the last seven years, local celebrities, highlighted by Colts and Pacers players, have joined together for a fun night under the lights at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis … for a great cause.
The eighth annual Caroline Symmes Celebrity Softball Challenge will be held Thursday, June 9th. The Home Run Derby competition begins at 6:00 p.m., with the seven-inning game to follow at 7:00 p.m. Robert Mathis of the Colts has been a face for the event from the beginning. For the second straight year, Pacers star Paul George is co-hosting it with him. (Roy Hibbert served as a co-host from 2010-2014.)
Almost 9,000 fans were at the park last summer to take in the event. In addition to the four active Pacers players who took part, plus former coach Frank Vogel and Nate McMillan, seven ex-players were on hand — including the late Mel Daniels.

Tickets are available for $10 and can be purchased online, or at the Victory Field Box Office.
Event proceeds help enable the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund to grant wishes to Indiana children, ages 3-18, who suffer from life-threatening illnesses. Since 1984, the fund has granted nearly 3,500 wishes to Indiana children.
