Despite missing 21 games due to a bone chip fracture in his left thumb and not getting serious minutes until after the New Year, Myles Turner was voted to the NBA’s All-Rookie Second Team by a panel of 130 sportswriters and broadcasters in the United States and Canada.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized as part of the All-Rookie team,” Turner said in a statement released by the team. “It’s great motivation moving forward and I’m excited for the future.”
Turner, who started in half of the 60 regular-season games he played, was drafted by the Pacers with the 11th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in almost 23 minutes per game.
The 20-year-old received the ninth-most points, including 28 first-place votes and 82 second-place votes. And he and Miami’s Justise Winslow were the only two top rookies to compete in postseason play.

The first team is highlighted by Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns and New York’s Kristaps Porzingis, both of whom were unanimous selections.
Joe Young, the Pacers’ second-round selection (43rd overall) received one second-place vote — from David Wesley (FOX Sports New Orleans).
