Paul George’s name has frequently appeared on NBA press releases this week, and for good reason. The league has been announcing regular-season honors and so, of course Paul George, the 10th-leading scorer in the NBA this season, was amongst those listed.
First, the All-Defensive team. This is obviously an award he takes great pride in as one of the top two-way players in the league. George was voted to the Second Team. He garnered five First Place votes and 48 points total.
San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard was an unanimous selection. The first team consisted of Chris Paul (Clippers), Avery Bradley (Celtics), Leonard, Draymond Green (Warriors), and DeAndre Jordan (Clippers)
Later, George was named to the All-NBA Third Team.
George learned about his latest honor, being on Third-Team All-NBA, while vacationing overseas, and he didn’t like that he only made the Third team.
