Pacers 2016 Pre-Draft Workouts: Robert Carter, Jr., Maryland

Maryland’s Robert Carter, Jr. was very impressive in his interview Thursday following a workout for the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers, who hold picks 20 and 50 in the 2016 NBA Draft, have an obvious need at power forward, and Carter, Jr. was out to prove that he could be that guy.

The 6-8, 251-pound big man interviewed with the Pacers during the Draft Combine last month in Chicago — and it was actually his first. He said he wasn’t too nervous because he had nothing to hide.

After he played his first two seasons at Georgia Tech, Carter, Jr. spent last season playing for Maryland. There, the 22-year-old averaged 12.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. He shot 55.4 percent from the floor.
