The Pacers released their official roster for rookie/free agent camp Tuesday afternoon. The 14-man group will go through five practices in Indianapolis, the first scheduled for Tuesday evening, before heading to Orlando on Friday.
Orlando Summer League runs from July 2-8 at the Amway Center.
The Orlando Summer League, held on the practice floor at the Amway Center, consists of 25 games spanning July 2nd through the 8th.
Nine NBA teams will have teams: Charlotte Hornets, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder — and Frank Vogel’s Magic will field two entries.
Last summer, the Pacers finished 1-4 but saw great showings by rookies Myles Turner and Joe Young.
Four Pacers — Glenn Robinson III, Shayne Whittington, Joe Young, and Rakeem Christmas — from the 2015-16 regular-season squad are on the Summer League roster, along with 2016 second-round pick Goerges Niang.
The roster includes two D-League players and one guard who played overseas last season.
Pacers assistant Popeye Jones, who’s entering his fourth season with the team, will head up the Summer League squad. That role had previously been held by longtime coach Dan Burke.
Jones’ bench assistants will be new coach Bill Bayno, Mad Ants coach Steve Gansey, and assistant video coordinator Jhared Simpson.
