The Pacers’ preseason and regular season schedules should be released this month. Already, the majority of their exhibition dates have been revealed by their opponents.
Frank Vogel, the Pacers head coach from 2011-16, will coach against his former team in the preseason. Might as well get it over with then. It will be on his new territory, down in Orlando.
Then, there’s the two usual dates against Chicago, a Central Division foe.
Typically, the Pacers play seven games to gear up for their 82-game slate.
The 2016-17 schedule is expected to be announced in the next ten days or so. That’s when new head coach Nate McMillan and the team will learn when and where they’ll be throughout the next season, and can plan accordingly.
Pacers 2016-17 Preseason Schedule (Listed in ET):
Thursday, Oct. 6 vs Chicago – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 8 at Chicago – 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 12 vs Milwaukee* – 8:00 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 14 at Orlando — 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Milwaukee – 8:00 p.m.
*The Bucks list their game in Indiana on Oct. 12 at a location “to be determined.” That suggests that the Pacers may play in another city — perhaps again up in Fort Wayne.
Stay tuned for more dates.
