Four-star 2018 forward Race Thompson announced on Sunday night that he has committed to play for the Indiana Hoosiers.
Thompson, who plans to reclassify to 2017 and enroll at Indiana this fall, announced his decision on Twitter.
The 6-8 power forward from Robbinsdale Armstrong High School in Minneapolis, MN becomes the first player to commit to new Hoosiers’ Head Coach Archie Miller and staff. Miller was able to retain all three previous commitments in Indiana’s 2017 class, which includes guard Al Durham and forwards Justin Smith and Clifton Moore.

According to multiple reports, Indiana was the only school that Thompson took an official visit to and he ultimately chose the Hoosiers over his other finalists, Minnesota and Iowa State.
As for his reclassification, Thompson said he plans to join his fellow teammates in August but redshirt for the 2017-18 season.
