The new-look Pacers will hit the court for their first game together on Wednesday, Oct. 4 in Milwaukee. The team released its preseason schedule on Wednesday — and it has been cut to just four games.
NBA teams are in full control of their preseason schedule. And with the regular season moved up more than a week in an effort for more player rest during the season, the Pacers decided to play just four games. They played six exhibition games last season, and seven in both 2014 and 2015.
Their only home preseason game is the final one, on Oct. 10, against the 2016-17 Israeli Super League runner-up, Maccabi Haifa. It will be special for Pacers first-round pick T.J. Leaf, who was born in Tel Aviv, Israel and recently said he needs to go back to visit soon. Maybe he can work in a trip next summer?
