The Pacers signed two University of Miami products to training camp deals ahead of camp, which opens on Sept. 26. Both are familiar names.
They signed 6-foot-8 forward DeQuan Jones and 6-foot-5 guard Trey McKinney-Jones to contracts. Both players have been in free agent/rookie camp and played in the Orlando Summer League with the Pacers.
DeQuan Jones dates back several years, to 2014 when he was joined the Pacers for Summer League. The undrafted free agent out of The U (2012) has spent the last three seasons playing overseas.
McKinney Jones, meanwhile, went undrafted in 2013. McKinney-Jones played 16 games for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants during the 2014-15 season. He averaged 12.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
While playing with the Pacers in Orlando in July, he averaged 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Teams can bring up to 20 players to training camp. Including these two signings, the Pacers have signed 19: 15 to NBA contracts, two to 2-way deals, plus Jones and McKinney-Jones.
