Pacers guard Victor Oladipo will participate in the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star weekend next month, the league announced Thursday.
This will be Oladipo’s second time in the featured event on All-Star Saturday. He last participated in 2015, representing the Orlando Magic, and finished in second behind Zach LaVine, now with the Chicago Bulls.
His competition: Aaron Gordon (Magic), Larry Nance Jr. (Lakers), Dennis Smith Jr. (Mavericks).
Oladipo will be the ninth Pacers player to compete for the dunk crown — joining Terrence Stansbury, Kenny Williams, Antonio Davis, Jonathan Bender, Fred Jones (1st, 2004), Paul George, Gerald Green, and Glenn Robinson III (1st, 2017).
He will not only have the opportunity to handle unfinished business from 2015, but also keep the trophy and bragging rights in Indianapolis after GRIII’s performance last February in New Orleans.
