Victor Oladipo on Tom Crean: ‘He’s always watching’

Victor Oladipo, Tom Crean, Georgia Basketball, Pacers

After games, Victor Oladipo always checks his phones. He has a routine he goes through — getting wrapped in ice bags, talking to the media, firing up his Bose bluetooth speaker, singing, and then hitting the showers.

At the Pacers’ final road game of the regular season in Charlotte, he didn’t need a text from his former coach … because Tom Crean was in the …

Pacers have been doubted all year. But they believed.

The Pacers’ belief in their talents, belief in each other is nothing new.

They knew.

It goes all the way back to September, before the season when they first started hanging around one another, on and off the court. There were six players returning, just two starters, from last year’s 42-40 team that was swept in the first round by Cleveland. It wasn’t a bad …

Victor Oladipo on Romeo Langford: ‘Hopefully he makes the right choice’

The Pacers had just completed practice Friday, two days before their opening game of the NBA Playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team was in good spirits, and Victor Oladipo is always in a talkative mood.

As he made his way to the backdrop, where he answers questions from the media, he first fielded one from the good-humored assistant coach Bill Bayno. But, it had …

Running thoughts: R1G1 – Pacers 98, Cavaliers 80

Victor Oladipo, Pacers

Here are my running thoughts from the Pacers’ 98-80 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena.

It was game 1 of their best-of-seven first-round series.

LeBron-led teams enter this series with 21 consecutive first-round victories. They’re 48-7 all-time. His last loss was all the way back in 2012, to the New York Knicks when already leading 3-0. The Pacers wore their…

Ep. 82: Dave McMenamin previews Pacers-Cavaliers

Dave McMenamin, Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, 2018 NBA Playoffs

Dave McMenamin is on the Cleveland Cavaliers beat, covering all things LeBron James and the Cavs for ESPN.

The Pacers’ first-round series begins in Cleveland where they’ll try to beat LeBron James in the playoffs for the first time. He’s ended their postseason run in five of the last seven years.

The Pacers, meanwhile, are pushing the underdog role, which suits them. Nobody picked them …

It’ll be just their second appearance on national television this season. They’ve surprised everyone, both in their results (48-34) and …

Pacers wearing gold uniforms in every first-round game

Indiana Pacers, Nike, Statement Edition Uniforms, Cleveland Cavaliers, Lance Stephenson

It won’t be difficult for basketball fans to spot the Pacers … they’ll be in their gold uniforms for every game in the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs.

Nike, which took over from Adidas as the official uniform and apparel provider in June, 2017, introduced Statement Edition uniforms for all 30 teams in a splashy announcement in September. According to Nike, “The Statement …
