UK Can Have Teague–IU Doesn’t Want Him

John Calipari Today’s announcement of Marquis Teague committing to Kentucky comes by no surprise. Calipari and his dirty antics will soon pay the price. He has already had two Final Fours vacated. The first time is a mistake but the second time shows problems.

I do not care for the way Calipari handles his teams and who he recruits. In face, Teague said at the press conference today that “I almost committed to Louisville twice but that just shows what coach Cal can do.” Teague went on to mention how “relieved” he was to now have made his decision made and that he really thought he would be going to Louisville about a year ago. Clearly Calipari is up to no good…What’s new.

Clearly I wouldn’t mind a few one-and-done players at Indiana. You can never pass that up. But its all about the ‘Culture.’ The culture at UK is to play for a quality team, receive national attention, skip classes, focus on the NCAA tournament only to lose in the Elite 8 and then head to the NBA after the season. It is a revolving cycle that gives the team no consistency and purely supports the “I” in team.

I by no means wanted Teague in an Indiana uniform. Crean understands the meaning of putting on the candy-stripe pants and playing at Assembly Hall. Teague doesn’t want to play as a team or in the best interest of the team. He wants to go to Kentucky and use it as training grounds for the NBA. No student in student-athlete there. I also think Teague is tremendously overrated. He does however, have a lot of raw skills that Calipari can help him improve.

I have seen Teague play four times and was not impressed. He was by far the most selfish player I have ever seen in high-school or college basketball. This guy has NEVER won a sectional that consists of a weak field. If he really was all he has been hyped up to be, he would have made sure they succeeded. The ‘superstar’ players—Greg Oden, Eric Gordon, and the Zeller brothers all have the mentality of not letting their team lose. There is a special fight in these players that is unique.

And Teague just doesn’t have that.

Wow! This article left me speechless! (In a good way). I agree with you, Teague is really overrated. I went to see him play twice and was not impressed at all! He was very selfish and cocky at times. I’m glad he’s not playing for IU. Keep the blogs coming!

LMAO at this blog and the notion that IU didn’t/doesn’t want Teague. Hoosiers are dumber than UL fans.
