8th-ranked Purdue heads south to Bloomington Wednesday for another in-state rivalry. The teams however are coasting in opposite directions. Indiana has lost four straight games and feels like the worst part of the season. Tom Crean was silenced for once in the postgame press conference after losing to Northwestern. It wasn’t the loss that left him speechless, but the lack of focus, determination and leadership.
Meanwhile, Purdue has won four straight games, including two big home wins last week over Wisconsin and No. 2 Ohio State. Enough with the “what-ifs” should Robbie Hummel be healthy. This team is very good nonetheless and in his absence, other players have emerged.
It is a shame that the rivalry game is only on the Big Ten Network this time around. Two weeks ago at Mackey Arena, ESPN rightfully so picked up the game.
I came across this hilarious mock photo conversation between head coaches Matt Painter and Tom Crean. It’s from MidwestSportsFans.com. Enjoy.
