Colts Injuries Continue to Mount

Lots of news out of West 56th St.

  • S Bob Sanders is out for the season with a torn biceps. He visited with Dr. James Andrews on Thursday and found that surgery was necessary. The injury occurred Sunday. Sanders has missed 40 of 87 games over his 5 1/2 NFL seasons.
  • CB Marlin Jackson out for the year with a torn ACL in his left knee. He tore his right ACL just shy of a year ago. Jackson sustained his injury during a non-contact drill early in practice Wednesday.
  • WR Anthony Gonzalez, who has been out since Week 1 with a knee injury, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Gonzalez underwent his surgery to remove loose particles. The team said he had a setback during a recent practice and that no timetable has been set for a return.
  • CB Kelvin Hayden has a knee injury and will be out at least a month.
  • K Adam Vinatieri continues to be out after having arthroscopic surgery a few weeks ago. He should be out at least another month.
  • The Colts also announced they had signed veteran DE Josh Thomas. Thomas, who signed with Colts as a rookie free agent in 2004, played with the Colts from 2004-08, and started 12 of 68 games, registering 172 tackles and six sacks.
