Orangetheory Fitness in Greenwood announced on Facebook recently that it would have a mystery coach in for a morning session. That person has professional coaching experience, but not in this environment.
Former Pacers head coach Frank Vogel, in Indy to spend time with friends during the offseason, made the 35-minute or so drive from Carmel down south to Greenwood to a very special Orangetheory Fitness.
Katie Douglas, a starter for the Indiana Fever from 2008-13 but now retired from the WNBA after 14 years, opened up a franchise that specializes in heart rate interval-based training during one-hour sessions.
“You’re constantly moving and every day it’s a different workout,” Douglas explained in January on the podcast.

Katie Douglas is a homegrown talent, playing basketball at all levels right here in her home state of Indiana. First at Perry Meridian High School. Then she won a National Championship at Purdue (1999), and a WNBA Championship (2012) with the Indiana Fever. She retired from the WNBA in 2014, playing for three teams over 14 seasons….

It wasn’t a matter of if, only when. Tamika Catchings will have her number officially retired and hung in the rafters of Bankers Life Fieldhouse this upcoming season.
