It’s official, Indiana basketball will hold their annual first public practice on Saturday, October 15th head coach Tom Crean tweeted.
“Hoosier Hysteria is Saturday, October 15. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., women at 7:30 p.m. and we are taking the floor at 8.”
Instead of the normal Friday at midnight practice, when teams are first allowed, IU opted to hold Hoosier Hysteria on a Saturday. The assumption is that Saturday better fits the schedule of potential recruits and further allows Coach Crean to take full advantage of such a popular event.
Indiana football is at Wisconsin with a noon kick-off so watching both will be no problem for fans. Admission this year is free, but IU athletics is encouraging fans to bring a non-perishable food item.
“Bring a canned good and start it off right with a packed house. Students, get your tickets so we can c u at the biggest games this year.”
Last year, I was on the BTN.com broadcast of the night and the stream will happen once again this year. ESPN and CBS Sports analyst Bill Raftery will host the events on the men’s side. Also, because NBA players are still locked out, D.J. White and Eric Gordon are available and will be involved…they will be signing autographs afterwards with the current players.
