Pacers face Gordon Hayward’s Jazz for only time this season

Former Brownsburg and Butler forward Gordon Hayward returns to his hometown tonight to square off against the Indiana Pacers.

In his second season, Hayward is still trying to get comfortable with his role in the NBA. He is surrounded by a solid core, including Devin Harris, Paul Millsap, and Al Jefferson.

The Jazz have surprised people around the league with their start. Losing Deron Williams …

Where things went wrong for the Pacers in Sacramento

The Pacers hit the road this week for a three-game west coast trip. Sacramento, Golden State, and Los Angeles (Lakers).

Wednesday night, the blue and gold opened in Sacramento at the Power Balance Pavillion (whatever happened to Arco Arena) and despite winning each of the first three quarters, they collapsed down the stretched.

Kings 92, Pacers 88.

Indiana (9-4) had a 80-66 lead at the …

Pacers fail first big test, blitzed in Miami

There hadn’t been the excitement and build up in quite a while for any Indiana Pacers game. After a miserable Colts season, the city of Indianapolis wants to embrace the Pacers.

After an early schedule that came across like the preseason, Indiana played at Miami on Wednesday and got torn apart, losing 118-83.

The Pacers were down just two points after the first quarter, but …

Plenty of firsts in tonight’s Pacers season-opener

Entering a shortened 66-game schedule, Indiana’s youth and depth may pay heavy dividends this season. The Pacers host the Detroit Pistons tonight for their season-opener.

New Nike ad portrays NBA stars playing with common folks

With the NBA lockout still preventing the world’s best from playing on their teams, it’s not keeping them from playing on their own. We’ve seen many players compete in Pro-AM’s or join together for charity causes.

Nike released a new video highlighting Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony playing basketball like anybody else — in rec leagues, on church teams and on the playground.…

With no deal in place, NBA risks losing fans and record-interest

When it looked like a deal looked liked it was going to be finalized, things turned ugly in a hurry. NBA owners and representatives from the players association met for three days in New York to try and agree on a new collective bargaining agrement.

So close, and now it appears feelings got hurt. But its all part of the negotiating game and may mean …
