Lakers found guilty of tampering with Paul George, fined $500,000 following investigation

Following an independent investigation into the communication of the Los Angeles Lakers and Paul George, the Lakers have been fined $500,000 for tampering.

On August 20, the NBA announced that it was looking into the situation at the request of the Pacers. The investigation was conducted by the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz out of New York.

Early Las Vegas odds set Pacers’ win total at 31.5

As most NBA rosters are set prior to training camp, Las Vegas sportsbooks have listed the over/under on the number of wins for all 30 teams.

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants lost the player rights to guard Marquis Teague and forward Omari Johnson in the G League Expansion Draft, held on Wednesday afternoon. The Memphis Hustle acquired their rights.

Alex Poythress signs two-way contract with Pacers

Alex Poythress is back within the Pacers organization. The team announced on Tuesday that they signed the 6-foot-7 forward to a two-way contract.

Most recently, Poythress played for the Philadelphia 76ers in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Earlier this summer, they signed rookie Edmond Sumner to the franchise’s first two-way deal.
