SPEEDWAY, Ind. — Running a few laps behind for much of his time in the race, Buddy Lazier’s day ended early Sunday during the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500.

The construction crew is approaching the final month of its project on the Indiana Pacers’ brand-new practice facility, the St. Vincent Center, located adjacent to Bankers Life Fieldhouse across Delaware Street. The $50 million project, which is being privately financed, is scheduled to be completed early this summer.

T.J. Leaf took part in the Pacers’ fourth pre-draft workout. He is just 20 years old, born in 1997 (!!!), and declared for the draft after just one season at UCLA.
Under coach Steve Alford, Leaf averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. He made 61.7 percent of his field goals.

Less than six months ago, on January 1, the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles began offering a Pacers license plate. One big Pacers fan got one of his own, and took it to another level.
