Coach Bob Knight may be out of coaching but he remains one of the most respective voices in college.
The former head coach at Indiana for 29 years is still a polarizing man that IU fans want to hear from. Last week, he spoke in Carmel and this weekend he is up in South Bend giving a talk.
And now we have learned that he has another book in the works, entitled “The Power of Negative Thinking.”
Amazon is already on board to publish the book which will be written by his friend and former Bloomington Herald-Times writer Bob Hammel. When it will be released is unknown.
Good news for Indiana? I think so.
His time in Bloomington was a big part of his life and where many ideas may have come to mind. He also wants it to sell well, and where better than to have a special event in the town where he used to coach and since, avoided.
“I’ve always thought the things that we look upon negatively are extremely important,” Coach Knight told Eric Hansen of the South Bend Tribune . “Like the word ‘no.’ I think the word ‘no’ is the most important word in the English language. I think people learning to say no keep themselves out of a lot more trouble than those that don’t.”
With Bob Knight’s name on the book, it will sell over a million copies. What he needs to do is use this promotion as an excuse to return to Indiana. I understand they pushed him away by firing him. However, it’s a new administration and coaching staff that have been very open and welcoming, hoping the day will come. Sometime.
