Butler Shows No Progress…Yet

The 2011-2012 Butler Bulldogs are not the same group of players that went to back-to-back final fours while beating up on perenial college basketball powerhouses. They are not the same team that has won four straight Horizon League regular-season titles. They are not the same veteran led time that wasn’t scared to play anyone. In fact, this year’s Butler men’s basketball team is quite the …

Christian Watford’s buzzer-beater lifts Indiana past No. 1 Kentucky

Indiana hosted top-ranked Kentucky to Assembly Hall Saturday for a huge rivalry game. The game went down to the final possession and the Hoosiers knocked off UK 73-72 in front of a rowdy, sell-out crowd. Down two with the ball, Verdell Jones passed to Christian Watford who connected on a long 3-ball at the buzzer.

Pure madness ensued. Watch the final play and celebration below.…

First half reaction: Indiana 30, Kentucky 29

The first half atmosphere was everything and more that was expected in Bloomington. Students were as loud as could be, there were signs galore, and there wasn’t an empty seat in the building. Hoosiers lead No. 1 Kentucky 30-29.

The game got pushed back ten minutes by ESPN but that didn’t stop Hoosier fans from continuing to cheer for their teams during warm-up and also …

Signs from Assembly Hall

The students lined up outside of Assembly Hall for hours and have been awaiting this game for weeks. Playing rival and No. 1 Kentucky, there are a lot of great signs in the building. Below is a collection of some of them:

“Calipari watches Glee”
“Office Dipo – We’re all business”
“I took my own S.A.T”
“Indiana players have class. Kentucky players don’t go to …

Video: Silent Night tradition at Taylor University

Taylor University in Upland, Indiana is a small Christian college with only about 2,000 students. During an annual basketball game on the Friday before final exams week, students and players alike get fired up for a game dubbed “Silent Night.” It is a relatively new annual tradition that is truly unique.

Beginning in the late-1980s, an assistant coach came up with the idea for the …

Hoosiers seek elusive win over No. 1 Kentucky

It’s finally here, Indiana hosts top-ranked Kentucky to Assembly Hall for IU’s most anticipated non-conference game. With the whole nation watching at 5:15 pm EST on ESPN (Dan Shulman, Dick Vitale), it’s the Hoosiers time to show they’re back.

And that’s important for Coach Tom Crean, the program, and IU faithful.

What the Hoosiers have gone through for the last three years has been harped …

Statement Game Looms in Ball State vs. Butler

While the entire state patiently awaits Indiana vs. Kentucky late Saturday afternoon, an important in state rivalry will be occurring 3 hours north. Ball State and Butler will meet for the 103rd time, and the 60th straight year. The rivalry favors Butler, but has seen it’s share of back and forth. The Cardinals dominated the Bulldogs in the 1990s, and Butler returned the favor in …

Coach John Calipari on Indiana

Indiana and Kentucky has always been a heated basketball rivalry. I much prefer the two playing on a neutral court but on Saturday, the undefeated Hoosiers host the top-ranked Wildcats to Assembly for a sold-out showdown.

This game is probably the most anticipated game in Assembly Hall since the Hoosiers hosted Duke in 2005. It will definitely be the loudest. Tickets were hot on Stubhub.com …
